In an organisation's lifecycle, the ability to pivot is a strength—but executing it technically requires precision.
For this used vehicle brokerage platform, the transition from an employee-based model to a national network of independent agents required a profound overhaul of its core technology. The company turned to Novity to support them in transforming its legacy marketplace into an automated growth engine.
Key Challenges
Following a strategic shift, the company needed to transform its platform to support a new growth model without increasing its structural costs.
Three key challenges emerged:
- Business model: Rethinking a platform capable of supporting a network of independent agents and franchisees, without disrupting ongoing operations.
- Operations: Evolving management tools — from prospecting to invoicing to commission tracking — to automate low-value-added workflows.
- Delivery: Maintaining a sustained development pace with a lean team, by structuring business requirements through a Product Engineering culture.

Collaborative Execution
Novity supported the internal Tech team by embedding experts in Product and Software Engineering.
The first workstreams focused on a complete overhaul of the back-office: granular role and permission management, complex commission logic, automated self-billing, and payment tracking.
At the same time, our teams supported the in-housing of critical tools (CRM, transactions, etc.), giving the client full control over its data and processes.
Finally, Novity brought a structuring Product Engineering culture: rigorous scoping of business requirements, detailed specification writing, interviews with end users (agents, buyers, sellers, accountants), and thorough testing phases. This approach ensured a solid product and technology foundation.
Measurable Impact
This transformation validated the success of the new business model: over 300 independent automotive agents are now active across France.
- Spectacular efficiency: administrative processing times cut 30-fold through automation.
- Network growth: the model enabled rapid, profitable expansion, along with the launch of a dedicated professional platform and new B2B offerings.
- Recognised success: this achievement was crowned with the title of "Best Franchise of the Year 2025" in its sector.
