Real-time API

In retail, agility means little without robustness. For this unified commerce visionary, the challenge was to turn a product ambition into a SaaS platform capable of erasing the boundaries between web and in-store.
This SaaS editor was born from a clear vision: making sales flow seamlessly across every distribution channel. To bring this operational solution to life, they partnered with Novity to co-build a robust platform from the ground up.
Key Challenges
The challenge was to accelerate the design phase while ensuring a seamless connection between the product vision and its technical implementation.
The project centred on three major challenges:
- Product: Building a high-performance "Full API" architecture for real-time in-store use — customisable, industrialisable for large-scale deployment, and simple to maintain.
- Regulation: To be deployed in-store, the payment module had to guarantee NF525 compliance without exception.
- Time-to-market: Creating a differentiated, scalable solution to compete with established players. The market typically takes five years to deliver an equivalent product meeting these certification .

Collaborative Execution
To accelerate delivery, Novity reinforced the client’s Tech organization by embedding seven senior engineers within a 12-person Product and Engineering team.
Working in close collaboration with the founding team, our experts directly contributed to the development of the Progressive Web App (PWA), the Java-based backend, and the React frontend—strengthening both execution speed and technical quality.
This increased delivery capacity enabled the parallel execution of complex workstreams, significantly reducing bottlenecks and compressing timelines. At the same time, certification was not treated as a constraint but as a strategic product asset—fully embedded into the architecture from the outset, ensuring compliance without compromising speed or scalability.
Measurable impact
Since 2021, the partnership has helped turn the client's vision into reality on a record timeline.
- Optimised time to market (TTM): a complete platform delivered and certified in just 24 months, including a cycle of annual audits and renewals.
- Proven reliability: by making continuous testing a standard part of the development cycle, the first deployments demonstrated the solution's robustness across mobile and fixed terminals.
- Easier scaling: the client now has an agile tool, built to handle rapid growth in demand.
